Games-Columns-Pariah’s Guild’s E3 2008 Speculation

A week from now, E3 2008 will be revealed for the general masses. Oh wait! I’m thinking about the old E3! The new E3 is only available for video game journalists. Does that mean I’m going? Defiantly…not. But, it doesn’t meant that I can’t report things about what’s happening about E3 to you guys. So here’s my E3 speculation.
1)Blizzard Is Going To Rock- Hopefully, if Blizzard shows up at E3, they will defiantly give some more details about Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2. It’s no coincidence that they decided to announce Diablo 3 two weeks before E3. Also, there’s a possibility that we’ll hear more Starcraft 2 details and a possible release date for the game. Heck, maybe even some Wrath of the Lich King details! If they don’t show up, then they will reveal more news about the the following games at Blizcon 2008.Only time will tell.
2)Playstation Home:Now or Never- The Playstation Home is an avatar like service, which was announced last year by Phil Harrison, former British corporate executive and a representative director of Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. (SCEI) and Executive Vice President of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE). Since then, the service went through numerous changes since the beta. First off, the original co-founder, Phil Harrison, left Sony to become president of another big video game company. Also Sony announced numerous delays for the service. Now it time for Sony to reveal if Playstation Home is still a go.
3) Microsoft-More Games-We haven’t seen a lot of new games from Microsoft for the past couple months. I guess they’re prepping for their big showing at E3. Expect Microsoft to talk about Gears of War 2, Too Human, Viva Pinata 2, and Fable 2(if that game will ever come out). There were also rumors a couple days ago that the X-Box 360 dashboard will also be available in 3d (e.g Minority Report style). Of courses, Microsoft never denied or confirmed if it’s true or not. Maybe they’ll talk about it at E3.
4) Nintendo’s Big Surprise?-Back at March,Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime revealed that Nintendo will have a big surprise in store at E3 2008. Many people expect that the company will reveal more details about Wii Music and Donkey Kong Wii. However, many fans expect Nintendo to talk about a possible new F-Zero, or Kid Icarus game. One game they will defiantly talk about at E3 is the Samba de Amigo game coming out for the Wii.[Update 6-7-08: There are also rumors that a next-gen version of the Nintendo DS is in store.]
5) More Resident Evil 5 Details-Resident Evil 5 was revealed at E3 last year, and it will be talked about again at E3 2008. Since Capcom said that the game will come out in 2009, maybe we’ll see a playable demo of the game at E3. Could we even see an actual release date?
6) God Of War 3-Last month, Amazon.com revealed that God of War 3 will come out in March 2009. If that’s true, then there’s a possibility that the game will show up at E3 2008.
7) Duke Nuke Em Forever: No Longer A Myth?- Weeks ago, a video was uploaded on Gametrailers.com showing some gameplay footage of Duke Nuke Em Forever. Hopefully, 3d Realm will give more details about the game at E3 this year.
8)Where’s Sam…Fisher-Last year, Ubisoft revealed Splinter Cell Conviction, a total revamp of the Splinter Cell series with a focus of action/stealth. The game was suppose to come out last year, but the game was delayed. Hopefully, Ubisoft will reveal more details about this new Splinter Cell game and how the game is different from Assassin’s Creed (a lot of people think that the game is similar to Assassin’s Creed, but set in modern day).
