Well, I got another Team Fortress 2 map for all of you today on Pariah’s Guild. This time, the map I’m recommending this week is far more different than the other maps I talked about before. This map I’m talking about is a brand new map made by Valve. However, that’s not even the icing on the cake! This map has a brand new gameplay mode that should excite all of the Team Fortress 2 fans out there. If you know what I’m talking about, then you should be familiar with Gold Rush, Pariah’s Guild’s map of the week.
Let’s try to guess what type of map is Gold Rush. Is it another control point map? No. Is it another CTF map? No! I give up, what is it? Like I said in the previous paragraph, it’s a brand new gameplay mode! The objective of the map is that the attacking must transport a bomb, from their side of the map, to the enemy’s side. But, the defending team must make sure that the bomb doesn’t come to their base, or they can say good bye to that round. All the attacking team have to do to push the bomb is to stand right next to it. The best part is that the bomb can heal you if you stand next to it! So, you might not need a medic on your team.
However, here’s when the challenge starts to set in. If your team forgets to push the bomb, or they get pwned by the other team, then the bomb starts to push itself back to the starting point. As you can see, this causes a defiant “tug-of-war” feeling to the map. I can defiantly tell you this; Engineers, Demomen, and Heavies will be used every time you play this map. If engineers place sentries at the right point of the map, then it can prove to be difficult for the team to advance the bomb. Demomen can place sticky bombs on the track, so that way the attacking team can receive a nasty surprise when they try to push the cart. What can I say about Heavies? Use them to try to take out as many people who are pushing the cart.
It’s about time that Valve realesed another map that’s not related to control point or CTF. The other game modes are starting to get a little stale to me. If you’re a client, then this map should be already installed since you downloaded the Team Fortress 2 update. If you’re running a server however, then you can download the map at the following…wait! You should already have this map as well!
