Last Sunday, I talked about games coming out this summer that you should keep a look out for. Well, the list was so huge that I had to separate it into two lists. Well, here’s part 2 [Update; From viewing the list, it turns out that July and August will be the slowest months during the summer. So don’t expect “high quality” games that was mentioned in May or June. Also, we did not mentioned Madden or NCAA football since these are typical games released during the summer.].
Alone In The Dark
Genre: Survival Horror Plateform: PS3, X-Box 360,PC Players: 1 Player ESRB: M Price: $59 Release Date; June 23rd

Alone In The Dark has been receiving very little media attention lately. Could it be the fact that the game looks completely like RE4? Well…maybe. But there’s other things that Alone In The Dark has that gamers should pick up. For one thing, the story features a protagonist, Edward Carnby, who’s found himself transported to present day New York, even though he was living in the 1920s. The game will feature an unprecedented physics that allows you to combine useless items into fully lethal weapons. For example, in the trailer, Edward used a simple bottle, put some gasoline in it, and volia! A deadly Molotov Cocktail! Each level will be broken up into “episodes” and each one will end in a cliff hanger. Out of all the summer games coming out this summer, this one is the game I have been looking forward to, but have been feeling nervous about it since there has been negative criticism about the game. I just hope it doesn’t disappoint like Dark Sector did.
Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution
Genre: Turn Based Strategy Plateform: PS3,X-Box 360, Nintendo DS Players: 1 (4 Players on X-Box Live and Playstation Network) ESRB: T Price: $59 Release Date; July 7th

The addictive Civilization genre is making its grand debut on next-gen consoles. So what’s new about this Civilization game?Um…..well…nothing really. If you played Civilization before, then this shouldn’t be new to you. Build a city, take over other cities, rule the world. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. However, what is new the multiplayer aspect of the game. Fraxis games promised to upload new maps every week for players to enjoy. Also, there’s one new feature in the multiplayer that should get Civilization fans happy. CR will introduce a timer system in the multiplayer, which controls the time of every player’s turn. This determined by the player who makes the first move. For example, if it takes 1 minute for a player to complete his turn, then everyone will have 1 minute turn throughout the whole match.
Soul Calibur 4
Genre: Fighting Plateform: PS3, X-Box 360, Players: 1 Player (2 4 Players on X-Box Live and Playstation Network) ESRB: T Price: $59 Release Date; June 29th
The tales of Swords of Soul eternally retold is finally reaching its inevitable conclusion.. Although the game will not feature “revolutionary” new features, it does support new modes, and new characters that will have any fan excited. New fighters like Hilde, Angol Fear, and Scheherazade will appear on both versions of the game. Also, Soul Calibur 4 will be the first (and possibly last) game in the franchise to feature a multiplayer mode. Finally, to light the fires of the console wars, Soul Calibur 4 will feature Star Wars characters for a certain system (Yoda for the 360, and Darth Vader for the PS3).[June 12th Update: Darth Vader's secret apprentice from the upcoming Star Wars: Force Unleashed is confirmed to appear in the game. Thus far, no one knows if he will appear for both consoles.]
Saints Row 2
Genre: Action/Adventure Plateform: PS3,X-Box 360 Players: 1 (16 Players on X-Box Live and Playstation Network) ESRB: M Price: $59 Release Date; August 26th

If you’re still playing GTA 4 by August, then you’ll probably not going to pick up Saints Row 2, the sequel for the Saints Row released for the X-Box 360. The game takes place years after the first one, and your character is out for revenge. Stillwater is 50% larger than before, but the city never changed. Cops, innocent bystanders, and rival gangs still plague the city, and its your job to take your gang, The Saints, back to the top. The game will take customization to a new level, as there is an in-depth character customization feature in the game that’s far superior than the last one (oh yeah, your character can be a girl this time). While multiplayer returns, Saints Row 2 will have a Co-op mode that will tie into the campaign’s story mode.
