Ah yes, Monday again. Time for me to recommend another map for all of you PC game modding fans. So what action filled map am I recommending this week? Well, to be honest, this map has very few action (only when you reached a control point occupied by the other team). The Team Fortress 2 map I’m recommending this week is completely and utterly different from the TF2 maps I recommended in the past. Instead of being all action, this map will test your skill playing a certain class. What is this map I’m talking about? I’m talking about The Best In Class map in Team Fortress 2.

Although this is a control point map, this map contains a series of obstacles for every TF2 class (except for the medic. Where’s the love?) that they must over come to reach their control point. However, your opponents are trying to reach the control point as well, so you must hurry! If you have a favorite class, this is the perfect map to test your effectiveness playing them.

Let me breakdown what to expect from the map. Some of the obstacles in Best In Class are really well thought out and will challenge even the veteran players of those classes. The solider course is the perfect example. Although the first part of the challenge is really simple (just shoot a button on the ceiling), the second part is infuriating. In the second part, you have to rocket jump over the wall in order to reach the control point. I couldn’t get myself above the wall, not even once! I tried to beat the course as a demoman, but his grenades can’t reach the button .

However, some of the obstacles in Best In Class are…how can I say it without offending class favorites like the engineer or Heavy classes? Um…ah yes! “Cheatable”. A perfect example can be found in the engineer course. There was an engineer on our team who was struggling to complete the engineer course. I was playing a demoman at the time, and I decided to “help” him by retrieving the control point myself. I reached the control point within 2 minutes using nothing more than sticky bombs! Another cheatable map is the Heavy course, which a medic can complete using his just his needler.

Despite some of the courses are cheatable, this is one of my favorite maps of week. Because of the sheer enjoyment knowing that you completed a challenging course, I highly recommend that any TF2 fan should download this map. Speaking of which, to download this map as a client, just join any server running “Bestinclass”. Once you joined, the map will download automatically. If you’re running a server, then visit the following URL.
