Sorry guys, I couldn’t find any good TF2 maps to talk about this week. But don’t fret! Although I couldn’t find a worthy TF2 map to talk about in this Map of the Week article, I found another Portal map that will stretch your brain as much as playing a regular game of Sudoku. Introducing, Chamber 23.
First, let me get this joke out of the way; yes, you get to touch your balls in this map.Hahaha, everyone has their laugh. But seriously, in this Portal map, the first goal is to fill one container with a specific amount of huge metal balls in order to pull an elevator like mechanism so you can proceed to the other side of the map. Of course, in Portal, nothing is what it seems to be. Right after I figured how to proceed to the next level, the map throws another challenge in my way.

The next part of the map requires you to open a door. Sound easy, right? Just place one of the balls on top of the switch. That would be the cause…if the switch wasn’t hanging on the wall! That’s right! In the second part of the map, the map throws you a curve ball by placing the switch on a wall! This has to be the hardest part of the map, for me, since I had no clue how to propel myself onto the switch. The worst part is that the I still unable to solve the map, even though I downloaded it a week ago!

One thing that defiantly intrigued me with map is the introduction with physics in the map. I never saw a Portal map use this much object-based-physics before. In fact, I never saw Portal’s original maps use any type of object-based-physics before. From what I played thus far, the map doesn’t really require a lot of advance Portal techniques in order to solve it. The only thing it requires is knowing where to place your portals in order to solve the puzzle.
